Sales Rules
for software and cloud-service subscriptions on chessbase.am
Effective date: «05» june 2026.
These Sales Rules (the “Rules”) govern the distance sale of software and cloud-service subscriptions and are prepared in accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Armenia, including the Law “On Protection of Consumer Rights”, the Civil Code and the Law “On Trade and Services”.
1. Seller information
1. Seller: CHESSBASE C.I.S LLC (ChessBase C.I.S.), registration number 999.110.1559887, address Yerevan, M. Khorenatsi str., 26a, office 210, email info@chessbase.am, website https://chessbase.am/. Essential information about the seller and goods is provided to consumers in Armenian.
2. Product information
2. The Website provides accurate and complete information on each product: name, key characteristics and functionality, system requirements (if any), subscription term, price including applicable taxes and any additional charges.
3. The cloud-service subscription is granted for one (1) year without automatic renewal. The no-auto-renewal condition is disclosed to the consumer before the order is placed.
3. Order placement
4. The Buyer selects a product, places an order and chooses a payment method: bank card via acquiring or bank transfer (invoice). The invoice is generated after the order is placed.
5. Before placing the order, the Buyer is given access to these Rules, the Public Offer and the Privacy Policy.
4. Price and payment
6. All prices are stated in the currency shown on the Website, including applicable taxes of the Republic of Armenia. The total is shown before payment confirmation.
7. Payment is made by the methods stated on the Website. Confirmation is the payment system’s confirmation or receipt of funds in the Seller’s account.
5. Provision of access
8. After payment is received, the Buyer is provided with a licence key, account and/or activation/access link — automatically or by email.
9. Access is provided immediately or within a reasonable time after payment.
6. Returns and exchange
10. If goods are defective (software does not activate, does not match the description, the cloud service is unavailable), the Buyer may demand remedy, replacement, a proportionate price reduction, or termination with a refund, under the Law “On Protection of Consumer Rights”.
11. Defects are remedied within twenty (20) days of the consumer’s request. Replacement is made within seven (7) days (if a replacement is available) or twenty (20) days where quality verification is required.
12. As a general rule, a consumer may return or exchange goods of proper quality within fourteen (14) days where the presentation and consumer properties are preserved.
13. Software, licence keys and access to the cloud (subscription) service are digital goods. After Access is provided (key delivered, activated, access opened), such goods of proper quality are not subject to return or exchange, as their consumer properties cannot be preserved. An activated digital product is treated as goods having individual characteristics. This reflects the nature of digital goods and the established market practice of their sale in the Republic of Armenia (Armenian online stores treat custom-made or individually-featured goods as non-returnable).
14. This limitation does not affect consumer rights in case of defective goods.
15. To request a return the Buyer contacts info@chessbase.am stating the order and reason.
7. Complaints
16. Written consumer complaints are registered within one (1) working day, an initial response is provided within three (3) working days, and resolution within thirty (30) days, extendable by fifteen (15) days where additional information is required.
17. The consumer may complain to the competent authorities of the Republic of Armenia or to a court.
18. For buyers located in the EU: the 14-day right of withdrawal does not apply to digital content whose performance has started with the buyer’s express consent and acknowledgement of losing the right of withdrawal (under EU law).
8. Final provisions
19. The law of the Republic of Armenia applies.
20. Essential information is provided in Armenian; Russian and English versions are published additionally.
21. The Seller may amend the Rules by publishing a new version on the Website.
